Easter is over: The contents of plastic eggs have been eaten, hard boiled Easter eggs are now egg salad and only the head of the chocolate bunny remains in the box. Baskets have been tucked away in the basement waiting for next year. And Jesus has been tucked safely back in the tomb.Read More

Hello friends, February is upon us.
In January we had new members’ classes, a leadership retreat, rearranged the sanctuary, installed new officers, reorganized our church committees and talked about our upcoming Mission Study.
Our mission study will begin formally in April and will continue through April, May and June. This will be a time when we meet in small groups to talk and dream about the mission of the church and what we want for the future.
This month, in February, I will be conducting a new Bible study on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 pm using the Presbyterian Covenant Bible Study series.Read More
Happy New Year my Church friends and family!
January is going to be a very busy month:
There will be a leaders’ retreat for all elders and deacons on Friday January 26 from 6:00-9:00 and Saturday January 27 from 9:00-3:00 at Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship. I have been working on preparing for this retreat since I began as your Interim pastor on October 1.
I will also be sharing much of the materials with the entire congregation throughout the year. Please put those dates on your calendar and plan to attend. You will not be disappointed with all the new materials and subjects we will cover.
As I step into a new role as your Interim Pastor, I am reminded that it takes a village to make a church and God is at the center. What a glorious history this church has had for 28 years with Pastor Larry and Lorraine Vilardo. We had a wonderful celebration on October 1, of their ministry and life at Rockville. Although they will certainly be missed, we enter into a new time of discernment for our church.Read More
This my last Newsletter article. This whole month I have been reflecting on what it means to participate for the “last time” in various events. This month was my last time in the food handout, in the Bible Study, staff deliberations, worship planning, hospital visits and preaching preparation. The most painful “lasts” have been the good byes that I have experienced as I have had dinners, lunches, and get-togethers with so many of you in this wonderful church family.Read More
This moment is bittersweet for me. After 28 years, September is my last full month of being the called and installed Pastor at Rockville Presbyterian, a truly beloved Church family.
My last day will be Sunday October 1st which is World Communion Sunday. This day is important to me because when I became very ill in the 1990’s the entire fellowship gave me encouragement and had faith that I would return from a very serious illness. That action inspired my faith in everyone at Rockville. That year World Communion Sunday fell on October 7th, the latest day in which World Communion Sunday can occur, coming at the end of the week, while this year it occurs on the first day of the month, which is the earliest it can occur.
