The Ministry of Music at Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship consists of a choir, a contemporary praise band and many talented instrumentalists and soloists who provide music on special occasions. The Traditional service which features choral music is led by Stephanie Benton. Twice a year, the choir, often accompanied by instrumentalists from the community, sings a special cantata (collection of anthems) based upon the theme of the season (Christmas and Easter). The Contemporary Service music is led by the Reverend Steve Clark and fine group of vocalists and musicians. We are blessed with many fine musicians and voices, offering a rich musical worship experience for all who attend our services all in the service of glorifying our Lord.
Stephanie recently moved to California after spending four years in Ramstein, Germany, where her husband Andrew was stationed with the USAFE band. Stephanie is a pianist and choral conductor, with degrees in both subjects from the University of Denver.
While in Germany, she directed a large international choir, played at a Presbyterian church, and taught piano lessons. Stephanie originates from Colorado, where her most recent positions were teaching college music courses and directing choirs at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs; and Pikes Peak Community College, as well as leading community choirs and church groups.
Last January, Stephanie met up with her choir from Germany in New York City, where they sang in Carnegie Hall with 200 other singers, which was a special treat. She also is a guest conductor with her choirs in Colorado on occasion. In addition to playing at Rockville, Stephanie also plays for the Orpheus-West chamber choir in Vacaville.
