Community Meeting on Veteran Suicide

May 16 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship
Download the flyer here.

Presbyterian Federal Chaplaincies will host a Community Team Building Event to help congregations and pastors respond to the Veteran Suicide Tragedy in our communities. All are invited to attend this gathering. This will be a spectacular event where much learning will take place on the topic of suicide. Congregations and local churches are invited to attend and learn the newest statistics, information, and research on this important topic. Our three leaders each bring a different perspective to the topic and are well versed in helping communities respond.

Cindy Kohlmann, Co-Moderator. Resource Presbytery - Connects congregations and pastors with their local communities and resources

Dee Cooper, Executive Presbyter, Integrates theological, psychological, and coaching wisdom in an engaging and interactive environment. Care of the Care Provider

Annamae Taubeneck, VA Chaplain and military veteran - Leads groups for VA veterans in outreach center to address issues including homelessness and addiction

A light lunch follows the program. This is not a Presbyterian event. We welcome others you may know who might have interest and would benefit. There is no cost to attend. Reservations are encouraged but not required. Email info@pccmp.org with Fairfield 2019 in the subject line.

Redwoods Presbytery Meeting at Travis Airforce Base

Friday, May 17 from 9:00 – 3:00
Travis Air Force Base
(co-sponsored by Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship and Travis Air Force Base) with tour of airplanes immediately following the presbytery meeting.

Please RSVP by May 1 to Pam Sommers at the Presbytery office if you are going so she can submit your information to make sure you will be put on the list to get on base that day.

It is an honor to have the Co-Moderator of the General Assembly at both our congregation on Thursday, May 16 as well as at Travis Air Force Base on Friday May 17.

These events are historical both for our church, as we host a General Assembly moderator, and for Travis Air Force Base as it is one of the first times an institution (other than a church congregation) has sponsored a Redwoods Presbytery event.

Annual Church Retreat

Friday, May 24 - Sunday, May 26
Zephyr Point Retreat Center, Lake Tahoe

All fourteen rooms as well as three cabins are reserved for our 24th annual retreat. There will be 43 attendees this year! Of that number, 15 are children. Should you be interested, please contact the church office; we will check on remaining availability.

The family retreat is a quiet weekend where we are treated to one of the most beautiful settings God has provided us. We share meals in a dining hall at pre-scheduled times. There is a Sunday morning worship service and a Sunday sunset Communion service both held on the grounds. The focus of the weekend is fellowship--with family and with other attendees.

For those who aren’t attending the retreat, Elder Dr. Kris Herman will lead worship and preach on Sunday.
